NELSONVILLE, Ohio, Aug. 17 // -- Micah Zimmerman has joined ED MAP's corporate leadership team as chief financial officer. With 20 years of strategic management experience, Zimmerman will head up the finance and administration functions of ED MAP.

"Our next phase of growth required a seasoned financial and operational professional to complement the very experienced team already in place. Micah will help us position our already fast-growing company for continued expansion. He will create easier and smoother processes that not only will make us more efficient but will add value for our customers," ED MAP Chief Executive Officer Michael Mark says. "We have made considerable investments in our infrastructure and now are marshalling these resources to provide even more solutions and cost savings for our customers," adds Mark.

The company's impressive success drew Zimmerman to ED MAP, as did the fact that "the management team and investors truly care about the community and employees," he says.

Zimmerman comes to ED MAP from Cincinnati, where he served as CFO for a group of three fast-growth venture-backed companies in the education publishing and software sectors. He was instrumental in raising significant capital, building the companies' infrastructures and completing acquisitions.

Prior to that, Zimmerman served as vice president and controller for Pomeroy Computer Resources, Hebron, Ky.; finance manager for Campbell Hausfeld, Harrison, Ohio; senior financial analyst for Sony Disc Manufacturing, Terre Haute, Ind.; and staff accountant for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Georgetown, Ky.

At ED MAP, Zimmerman will focus on refining the administrative department - including finance, human resources and operational practices, as well as on managing acquisitions and building investor relationships.

He also will provide strategic support for ED MAP's emerging products and technologies. First up will be a host of new Web services for clients, due to go online by the end of the year.

Zimmerman believes his skills and success as a change agent are ideal for ED MAP, a company that has been on a growth trajectory for eight years. Working as a change agent "can involve activities such as improving pricing structures to make more sense, offering services that are more in tune with our customers' needs, and changing the nature of business relationships so that vendors and customers become true business partners," Zimmerman explains.

The company is in the stage he finds most rewarding.

"Getting a train on the tracks is hard. ED MAP has done an awesome job at that," Zimmerman says. "Getting the train to go straight up the hill is the next challenge we face. That's where I can provide the most value."

Zimmerman has been a CPA in the State of Ohio since 1993. He holds a bachelor's in accounting from the University of Kentucky and a master of business administration in finance from Indiana State University. Zimmerman is vice president of their MBA Association.
