TORONTO, Canada, August 14 // --

- Inaugural Canadian TelCamp Set to Rock Toronto

The Royal Ontario Museum, (ROM) will debut TelCamp 1 Toronto, Canada's
first TelCamp. This grassroots initiative is designed to showcase the
attributes of the .tel domain and is the first to employ the newly created
TelCamp.tel site which provides automated registration and attendee lists,
submissions for agenda topics and further .tel resources.

"We're extremely pleased with the number and diversity of people that
have pre-registered thus far, spanning realtors, lawyers, domain registrars,
insurance brokers, students, domain experts and novices," said Scott Smith,
one of the TelCamp organizers. "The TelCamp.tel model has been a godsend in
helping to manage an event that by its very nature is organic."

Telnic Communications Director Justin Hayward: "Building on the initial
idea of TelCamp created by another member of the .tel community, TelCamp.tel
is a fantastic structured resource that can be employed by the international
TelCamp community as it will be handed on to subsequent organizers in future.
As it's such a flexible platform, we're sure to see new features added as new
events arise."

"We took the core functionality of .tel and built the foundation of a
dynamic, self-service system to assist all TelCamp organizers," explains Mark
Kolb
, also an event organizer and principal architect of the TelCamp.tel
model. "From its inception, .tel has sparked fascination and controversy
around the world. Hopefully, with the introduction of this interactive model,
in addition to managing registrations, attendees and session topics, it will
demonstrate the enormous versatility of .tel."

TelCamp 1 Toronto takes place Saturday August 15, 2009 and is open to
everyone. Entrance is via the Queen's Park doors and registration starts at
8:45 a.m. Admission is free and members of the media are welcome to attend.
