SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 25 // -- PureMatter, one of Silicon Valley's largest brand marketing and interactive agencies, today announced that they are rounding out their leadership team and broadening their capabilities to include Social Media and Word of Mouth Marketing. To assist in driving this new division, PureMatter has hired marketing veteran Charles J. Orlando to head-up public relations, social media marketing, and business development.

"As PureMatter continues to grow and the market calls for cutting-edge capabilities, we needed a seasoned professional to help drive the new/emerging media-side of our business," said Bryan Kramer, co-founder and president of PureMatter. "The skill set that Charles brings to the agency is so unique that we feel it furthers the differentiation between us and traditional marketing and advertising agencies. We're so pleased that Charles, given his extensive experience in the high-tech marketing world and as an acclaimed author, has chosen to become a part of our already talented brand marketing and interactive team."

Charles joins PureMatter with over 16 years of software and internet services marketing experience--both as an in-house marketing executive and consultant. Charles has lead and driven the marketing communications and product marketing efforts for an number of leading high-tech, SaaS, and consumer brands including Vendio Services, Coremetrics, Eloqua and Ninth House. Charles also served as Senior Director of Marketing for WebEx Communications prior to and beyond the IPO, where he drove the company's marketing communications organization, and played a significant part in the branding, demand-generation, and awareness-building programs that led to the successful IPO in 2000. Charles is a member of American Mensa (San Francisco Region) and is very active on the Social Web--recently achieving a spot as one of the "Top 25 Twitter Elite" for the Bay Area. A veteran writer and blogger, Charles is also the author of one of the hottest relationship books on the market: The Problem with Women... is Men.

"I'm thrilled to join such an incredible agency with talented, creative, and innovative professionals that are fun to work with," said Charles Orlando. "Since my days at legendary PR firm Regis McKenna in the early 1990's, I've been actively looking to return to my agency roots. PureMatter's clear vision of working with clients--not just for clients-- with proven, results-focused methodologies are exactly the way I love to work."

To better service the continued growth, PureMatter also named Monica Holm as Account Supervisor, promoted from her previous role as Account Manager. In her new expanded effort, Monica will oversee all client activity with a client service team to ensure that campaigns are consistently on objective, on-track and on budget. Prior to joining PureMatter in mid- 2008, Monica has held senior account management and business development management positions at CKS Partners, P3M and Decarolis Direct where she managed a wide range of clients in the technology and consumer space.

"PureMatter is serious fun," said Monica Holm. "The culture here is results-driven, but we also have a unique approach to our everyday work style--both internally as well as with our clients. We don't just 'manage accounts'; we know our clients' businesses inside and out, and I'm thrilled at the opportunity to continue to assist companies in achieving their marketing and sales goals."
