Bid on a Piece of Television Magic While Supporting the Television Academy Foundation

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Aug. 25 // -- Among the festivities leading up to the 61st Primetime Emmy(R) Awards on September 20, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation has launched its 2nd Annual Emmy Season online auction for memorabilia and one-of-a-kind experiences featuring some of the biggest shows on TV, announced Terri Clark, Executive Director of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation.

Potential bidders can see more than 40 items for auction at www.ebay.com/emmysfoundation. Exclusive items for bid include visits to the sets of such television shows as the new Melrose Place, Medium, The Young and the Restless, Monk (bidding on this item ends August 31), VIP seats to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the new Jay Leno Show as well as special red carpet seating to enjoy the 61st Primetime Emmy Arrivals in person. Other items include a visit to a table read for Family Guy and props and signed memorabilia from such TV hits as Breaking Bad, House, Grey's Anatomy, Greek, and more including special surprise events and parties. The auction is live now, and will close on September 3, 2009.

Perhaps the most unique item is the Primetime Emmy issue of emmy Magazine featuring more than a dozen stars - most of whom have autographed their photos in the respective profile. Simon Baker signed the cover and such notables as Tyler Perry, Sigourney Weaver, Diablo Cody and current Emmy nominee Christina Applegate have also added their autographs.

"This online auction is a great way for TV fans everywhere to bid on a piece of television magic while supporting a wonderful cause," said Clark. "We're so pleased that top television producers have supported the Television Academy Foundation by providing A-List, one-of-a-kind items and experiences that TV fans can enjoy."

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Television Academy Foundation. The Foundation's key educational and preservation programs include its acclaimed student internship program, the College TV Awards providing recognition and industry exposure for exceptional television and film students from across the U.S., the Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship, and the Archive of American Television, which chronicles the stories of Television's pioneers, innovators, artists and legends.
